My latest piece is called Survival. It is a personal piece for me about finding strength and resilience. The turquoise represents life.

The design began with my enjoying the contrast of the turquoise and howlite stones. Both stones have black stress lines through them and therefore work well together but their contrasting coloring presents a challenge. How can these stones be strung in a way that marries their similarities while spotlighting their differences? This is where the asymmetric design of the piece pulls it all together.

The piece is composed of large turquoise stones, 15mm green-amber dyed howlite nuggets, 4x13mm poppy jasper tubes, 4mm poppy jasper cubes, 6mm black jasper rounds, 4mm black and green agate faceted rounds, black agate and other assorted stone chips, glass beads, seed beads and sterling silver. Would this be a nice addition to your collection or gift for a loved one? The piece can be bought on Etsy.
