I’d like to present my latest beadwork piece, Golden Lace. I wanted this piece to be incredibly bold yet have a delicate feel – rich lace. The choice of bead colors and size of the piece make it bold. The beadwork and asymmetry of the piece make it delicate.
Those that have seen the piece in person respond with interest. The piece lays beautifully across the collar bone and requires the eye to wander a bit to appreciate it. The overall feel is balanced and the beadwork leads to an interesting use of pattern, negative space, and pleasant surprise.
Golden Lace is composed of a 18mm Swarovski golden bead, 6x8mm yellow jade melon beads and yellow jade tear beads, a tiger’s eye pendant and 8mm rounds, 4mm Swarvoski crystal, 5mm quart rounds, glass beads, sead beads and 14qt gold components.
Let me know what you think!
